The Bayou Community Foundation’s 2019 “Bayou Region Nonprofit Conference” will be held on Friday, August 16 from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm at Fletcher Technical Community College in Schriever. Nonprofits can register for the conference online at www.BayouConference.org through August 9.

Executive directors, fundraising and communications staff, and board members of Bayou Region nonprofits are encouraged to attend the conference, sponsored by the Greater New Orleans Foundation.  The day kicks off with an opening presentation by “DJ Rhett” Lecompte on “Just Do You!,” followed by sessions on Telling Your Nonprofit’s Story, Engaging Board Members in Fund Development, Strategic Planning for Small Nonprofits, Board Recruitment and Succession, PR Strategies for Nonprofits, and more. During lunch provided by Big Mike’s BBQ Smokehouse, a panel of local nonprofit leaders will share their experiences, successes and challenges with fundraising.

Online registration closes August 9.  Cost is $75 per person, with discounts offered for teams of two or more from the same nonprofit.  Registration, agenda, and speaker and presentation information can be found at www.BayouConference.org.  

The inaugural Nonprofit Conference in 2018 was attended by 100 local nonprofit representatives.
