Hurricane Francine Nonprofit Grants

Bayou Recovery Fund – Hurricane Francine Relief and Recovery Grants Program

Update:  September 17, 2024

NONPROFIT GRANT REQUESTS  – APPLY HERE

Bayou Community Foundation has modified the Bayou Recovery Fund grants program to reflect and address the most current post-Hurricane Francine needs identified at this time.
We will accept requests focusing on specific post-Francine recovery needs your organization plans to fill for local residents in the immediate future, or requests that specifically address Francine impacts on programs that serve under-resourced residents in your highly-impacted area on a regular basis.  All grant requests submitted in our grants portal by 1:00 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 18, will be reviewed and considered for funding by BCF within five days.  Additional requests received after Sept. 18 may be considered in a subsequent grant round, depending on funds available and unmet needs identified.  Please note that this is a competitive grants process and all grant requests and/or level of funds requested may not be funded.
As of September 17, priority will be given to:
1. Established programs with specific plans and grant budgets that fill an identified need as we move beyond emergency relief efforts (hot meals, water and cleaning supplies) and into recovery
2. Programs serving under-resourced residents in communities that have been traditionally under-served and communities where residents experienced the greatest and longest-lasting impacts from Francine
3. Programs that regular serve residents throughout the year – blue skies and gray – and will increase that service or need additional support  to meet the needs created by Francine
We encourage all applicants to include as detailed and specific plans and budgets as possible for your grant requests and the specific community location(s) you are serving.

Bayou Community Foundation has opened its Bayou Recovery Fund Grants Program for local 501c3 nonprofit organizations providing critical relief and recovery services to Lafourche, Terrebonne and Grand Isle residents impacted by Hurricane Francine. Grant requests may be submitted through our online grant application portal.

Grant requests should support nonprofit programs serving under-resourced residents in the Lafourche, Terrebonne and/or Grand Isle and specifically filling critical unmet relief and recovery needs in response to the storm. Requests will be received on a rolling basis until the grants program is closed.

Grants awards are dependent on funds available and continued needs identified in our community, and are determined by members of the BCF Grants Committee upon review of grant requests and assessment of needs. Grants are not awarded to individuals or for-profit businesses.
